This July, The Sherborne is delighted to welcome Sherborne Library as a temporary pop-up library while essential building works continue at the main library site.

Based in the Art Room from Wednesday 1 July to Saturday 1 August, the pop-up library will offer book borrowing, library support, signposting and family-friendly activity during the Summer Reading Challenge.

The Sherborne will also be part of Culture Quest, a Dorset-wide project encouraging children aged 5–11 to explore cultural spaces and collect stamps in their passports. Families visiting the pop-up library will be able to collect a Culture Quest stamp at The Sherborne and enjoy the wider house, exhibitions, café and gardens during their visit.

We are also working with the library team to explore creative activities inspired by books, storytelling, illustration and Quentin Blake.

The Sherborne is free to visit. Our galleries, shop, gardens and Pavilion Café will be open during normal opening hours.
