Sir Quentin Blake’s drawings have always carried a sense of lift — a line that leaps, characters that feel mid-motion, stories that seem to rise off the page. Airborne over Sherborne invites you into that feeling of flight and freedom, set within our luminous First Floor Georgian Room Galleries.
Running alongside 100 Portraits, this exhibition continues The Sherborne’s celebration of Quentin Blake, bringing his work into conversation with the house’s historic interiors and the layered stories held within them.
Also on view within this exhibition
The Folke Church Altarpiece (The Folke Resurrection) — an early work by Sir James Thornhill, conserved with support from the Friends of Sherborne House and now returning to The Sherborne story.
