The Sherborne nominated in the Muddy Awards 2026

We’re delighted to share that The Sherborne has been nominated for Best Arts, Culture & Theatre in the Muddy Awards 2026.

It is a lovely piece of encouragement for our small team, and for everyone who has supported The Sherborne as it continues to grow into something distinctive: a place where art, culture, heritage, food and community come together under one roof.

At The Sherborne, we are not simply restoring a beautiful building or presenting a programme of exhibitions and events. We are helping shape a place with a real sense of belonging. A place where someone might come for a coffee and discover a gallery. A place where a film screening becomes an evening out. A place where heritage, contemporary culture and hospitality sit comfortably alongside one another. A place that feels rooted in Sherborne, while championing a bigger ambition too: to be a growing home for the arts in the South West.

That ambition matters to us. We want The Sherborne to be somewhere people return to often, not just once. Somewhere generous, inspiring and alive with conversation. Somewhere that supports artists, welcomes visitors warmly, celebrates history, and makes culture feel part of everyday life.

This nomination also reflects the many people who are helping build that vision: our staff team, volunteers, artists, supporters, visitors and wider community. The Sherborne is growing because people are choosing to spend time here, bring others with them, and believe in what it can become.

If you’ve visited us and enjoyed what you found here, whether through an exhibition, the house, a meal, a film, an event or simply a quiet hour in good company, we’d be hugely grateful for your nomination.

Nominations close on 23 March 2026 at 1pm.
