The Restaurant at The Sherborne wins Hospitality Award at Sherborne Business Awards 2026

We’re delighted to share that The Restaurant at The Sherborne has won the Hospitality Award at the Sherborne Business Awards 2026.

It is a wonderful recognition for our hospitality team and, for us, a celebration of something that sits right at the heart of The Sherborne: the idea that culture and hospitality belong together.

The Sherborne is home to the arts in the South West, but the experience of being here stretches far beyond the gallery walls. Our ambition is to bring together inspiring creative and culinary experiences, creating a place where people can discover something new, spend time together and, above all, feel genuinely welcome.

Whether someone has come to see an exhibition, hear a talk, join a workshop or simply meet a friend for lunch, food and hospitality are an important part of their visit.

That is why this award means so much.

A celebration of the people behind The Restaurant

At the heart of The Restaurant is a team of people who bring care, creativity and energy to what they do every day.

From our chefs preparing seasonal dishes in the kitchen, to the front of house team welcoming guests, the café team pouring coffees and the many colleagues working behind the scenes, hospitality at The Sherborne is very much a collective effort.

It is not simply about what arrives on the plate. It is about the welcome at the door, the conversation across the table, the attention to detail and creating an atmosphere in which people want to stay a little longer.

Our brand has always placed warmth, collaboration and enjoyment alongside ambition and creativity, and this award feels like a particularly lovely recognition of those values in action.

Where art meets appetite

One of the things we love most about The Sherborne is the way different experiences flow into one another.

You might arrive to encounter contemporary art, discover the extraordinary Sir James Thornhill mural, hear a new idea at a talk or event, and then continue the conversation over lunch, dinner or a glass of wine.

For us, those moments are not separate. They are all part of what makes a cultural place feel alive.

The Sherborne's approach is built around sharing creative and culinary experiences for everyone to enjoy, and The Restaurant plays an increasingly important role in bringing that idea to life.

Thank you

Most of all, this award belongs to our team and to the people who support them.

So, a huge thank you to everyone who has joined us for lunch or dinner, stopped for coffee, celebrated a birthday, met friends before an exhibition, enjoyed a drink after an event, recommended us to someone else or simply returned for another visit.

And an enormous congratulations to our hospitality team.

We are very proud of you.

Here’s to many more conversations, exhibitions, dinners, discoveries and reasons to gather around the table.
