A Remarkable Day for The Sherborne – Thank You, Sherborne Community!
Today was an unforgettable moment in our journey — The Sherborne was honoured with three awards at the Sherborne Business Awards, including the Overall Winner, New Business Gold, and Hospitality: Casual Dining Gold for the Macready’s Restaurant. We are absolutely thrilled, deeply humbled, and immensely grateful.
What makes these awards so meaningful are the beautiful words shared by the judges.
Overall Winner
The judges spoke of our “new offering to the town” and reflected that this award is truly a testament to the extraordinary vision and generosity of our founders, Michael and Sally Cannon.
Michael’s dream for this cultural beacon shaped what The Sherborne is today, and although he sadly never saw it realised, his legacy continues to enrich countless lives.
New Business – Gold Award
This category highlighted what we strive for every day:
A place to connect with creativity, art, history, nature and with each other.
One judge noted the achievement of creating “a venue with exhibitions, talks, performances and workshops that the whole community, including children, can learn and get pleasure from… What a great asset for the town.”
Hospitality; Casual Dining – Gold Award
We were delighted that the judges recognised Macready’s Restaurant for its warm, friendly atmosphere, local ingredients, and delicious food — with one visitor lovingly sharing that while the galleries and sculpture gardens were amazing, their husband “picked the absolutely delicious food!”
