Front of House, Bar & Waiting Staff

We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join our hospitality team in a full-time role, working across The Restaurant, Pavilion Café, bar and events at The Sherborne.

As one of the welcoming faces of The Sherborne, you’ll help create a warm and memorable experience for every guest - whether they’re stopping for coffee and cake, enjoying lunch or afternoon tea, attending an event or celebrating a special occasion.

You’ll also support our private events and hires, helping with preparations, welcoming guests and ensuring everything runs smoothly. This is a varied role within a growing arts and heritage venue, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a lively, supportive team.

What you’ll do

  • Welcome guests warmly and help them feel at home.

  • Take food and drink orders accurately and provide attentive, efficient service.

  • Prepare and serve drinks as part of our café, restaurant and bar service.

  • Support the setup and delivery of events, private hires and special occasions.

  • Work closely with colleagues across the kitchen, bar and wider building.

  • Clear and reset tables, keeping all hospitality areas tidy and inviting.

  • Handle payments, bookings and reservations when required.

  • Share information about The Sherborne’s exhibitions, events, membership and wider offer.

  • Be flexible and willing to support different hospitality areas when needed.
